The clot dissolving drug is an effective emergency treatment to unclog a blocked blood vessel or artery. Unfortunately, this drug is not suitable for every patient and it must be administered within a three-hour<\/a><\/strong> window from the onset of stroke symptoms for maximal effect.
\n<\/span><\/li>\n- Another treatment for ischemic stroke is the use of antiplatelet drugs or anticoagulant drugs. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Hemorrhagic Stroke<\/strong><\/strong><\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n- There are no known drugs available to stop the damage done to the brain by a hemorrhagic stroke. Yet, the doctor will consider executing a number of treatments to control the patient\u2019s blood pressure in order to reduce expansion of the hematoma inside the brain. <\/span><\/li>\n
- The use of Mannitol and Glycerol is based solely on the severity of the swelling effects in the brain caused by the stroke. These drugs are administered to reduce the intracranial pressure in the patient. <\/span><\/li>\n
- Surgical treatments will be determined based on the size and location of the bleeding and the possibility of the stroke complications.
