Founder’s Message

Welcome to the Hong Kong Stroke Fund to enhance your stroke knowledge with us.

Did you know that someone is killed by stroke in every six seconds worldwide? Each year, 3500 people are killed due to strokes in just Hong Kong alone, becoming the number four killer in Hong Kong after heart disease and cancer. Although the attack of a stroke is instantaneous and brief, its effects are long-lasting and gravely influence the survivor and its family.

Many people have the misconception that stroke, unlike heart disease and diabetes, cannot prevented and have no symptoms. However, in reality, many stroke incidents are preventable and curable once we have gained knowledge on the disease and stay alert to stroke symptoms.

Our mission is to bring awareness and compassion for the combat against stroke. With this in mind, the Hong Kong Stroke Fund has organized a series of educational and promotional events to raise stroke awareness in the community and commit ourselves to build a stroke free society. We also provide financial assistance to patients’ mutual help groups and non-profit organizations to facilitate stroke survivors with their recovery. Lending them a helpful hand to regain independence and live in a better environment.
